Background & History of DJ Farms
DJ Farms is one of the few true remaining farm operations left in north Texas. Back in the 1930's our great-grandfather was a sharecropper farmer who came from Arkansas to Texas, and settled along a place we now call Preston Road. He picked cotton to make ends meet for his family. Through diligent and hard work he was able to start buying farmland when prices were as cheap as $275.00/acre. Our family farming operation has grown to over 10,000 acres in Grayson, Fannin and Hunt Counties. While today a great deal of our operation is farmland we rent, but we still are proud to be a part of the dying breed of a true Native American Farmer.
With this background in mind, you the dove hunter will be hunting on the land that is part of our farming operation. We are not an out-fitter that many of the dove leases consist of today. You will be hunting on a true Texas Farming Operation with newly harvested grain fields and pastures with numerous ponds. We work extremely hard with you to make your hunt successful in all aspects. This is our 28th year to offer one of the most successful dove hunting leases in north Texas, and we hope you will join us.
Sincerely,
David & Jay Norman
